Amateurs talk tactics, professionals talk logistics
I thought this quote would be fitting for today's #thoughts. When we were children we were asked, "what would you like to be when you grow up?" In my older years it is apparent that we were not given a lot of choices when asking that question. Or, maybe that was just my #perspective from my youth. My choices were #doctor, #lawyer, #teacher or #judge. Now, I am sure that there must have been at least 3 to 4 more career options but those are the few that came to mind. Before I was licensed and much before I entered #graduate school, I wanted to teach (as I mentioned in a previous post). Then after, I decided that I wanted to be a "shrink," which isn't the term used, but I wanted to be that person. I #envisionedhaving a cool ass office with a sofa for my clients to lay on and tell me all the #tea. <==== you see what I did there lol. Anyways, when I entered college, still I wasn't sure what the path would be. Now, sixteen(ish) years later I am on my #path engaging with clients and building a #business.
I feel like we have been taught to think small in a way because of the lack of exposure. I do however, believe that my parents’ generation tried to put us in a better position to achieve greater things. My mom ensured that I #traveled and experienced things that she was not able to do. I still beat her when it comes to some life experiences, and I really hope to help her to see what the world has to offer one day. My #hopes and #goals are to show my #children even more than I have experienced in my life. I have decided that I will not engage in small talk when it comes to my life, or those that I love. We deserve to talk and think big #shit only when it comes to our lives. I am #grateful for the life that I ahve and no longer will talk tactics. I am only talking #logistics because I deserve big shit ONLY! So, I hope y'all are ready for these next few weeks because when the clock strikes 2022, it's already too late to get things started.
